PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Security officials on Saturday secured and reopened roads which had been closed by Taliban insurgents over the past five months in the Azra district of central Logar province.
Governor Arsala Jamal, who visited Mohammad Agha district, told reporters the security forces had achieved their target in Azra, where a major security operation is still underway.

PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): A senior officer of the Afghan National Army was killed in an improvised explosive device attack in central Logar province on Friday.
The death of Col. Halim Shah Qadiri, associated with the 203rd Thunder Corps, was announced in a short statement from the governor's house in southeastern Khost province.

Hidayatullah Ahmadzai is the son of Wakil Shatokhan. He is born in 1970 in Dara-e-Mangal area of Azra district. He hails from Ahmadzai tribe. After completion of his primary education, he worked with the International Committee for Red Cross (ICRC). He was leading a group of Hizb-e-Islami Afghanistan (HIA), with renowned commander, Zardad.
