KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): A number of tribal elders, religious scholars, civil society activists and youth representatives on Saturday asked the Independent Election Commission (IEC) to promptly announce the presidential election result.

At a gathering in Khost City, they asked the Reform and Unanimity team, led by presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, to avoid creating problems by threatening the Afghans with launching “Orange and Green Movements.”

 
Khost City (Pajhwok): Representatives of civil society organisations in southeastern Khost province on Sunday accused the Independent Election Commission of being pliant and unfair. 

 
KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Tribal elders and civil society activists in southeastern Khost province on Thursday urged US secretary of State John Kerry to play a proactive role in ensuring an amicable end to the deadlock over presidential election results.
Speaking at a press conference, the participants hailed Kerry for trying to resolve the differences between presidential contenders Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah.

 
KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Officials on Friday poured scorn on presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah’s claim of a higher turnout than the total number of registered voters in southeastern Khost province.
A survey under the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) of the Rural Development Ministry put Khost’s population at more than 1300,000, the governor’s spokesman explained.
Mubarez Mohammad Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News there were 700,000 eligible voters in the province, where over 400,000 ballot papers had been dispatched by electoral commission.
