KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Acting governor of southeastern Khost province on Saturday said 80% government institutions got proper buildings, which would intensify progress and development of the area.
Abdul Jabbar Naeemi expressed the views while inaugurating an uplift project in Khost City, the provincial capital. Five years back, he recalled, 60 percent of government offices operated in private houses.

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): The police chief for southeastern Khost province on Wednesday promised supporting the provincial council’s efforts for resolving security problems.
Brig. Gen. Faizullah Ghairat, at a meeting with provincial council members at the end of a month-long strike, said he would take measures to improve the security situation in the province.
About one and a half month back, the Wolesi Jirga barred the councils from monitoring the performance of local authorities. The decision prompted PC members to shut their offices.

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Provincial council members of southeastern Khost province on Saturday said there was dire need of launching reconstruction projects in the province.
Amirullah Zraswand, head of provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News that he held detailed deliberations with the acting governor about important projects that the people had been demanding for long.
In addition of using imported electricity, building internal power dams is vital for running factories, he said.

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Foreign soap operas, broadcasted by Afghan television channels are leaving negative psychological impact on behavior of children, the residents of southeastern Khost province said.
Afghanistan television channels are continuously broadcasting Indian, Turkish and American soap operas in Kabul and across the provinces, with dubbing in local Dari and Pashto languages.

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): The acting governor on Monday said a number of key reconstruction and infrastructure development projects were completed last year in southeastern Khost province, where the government’s writ, security and stability had improved.
Abdul Jabbar Naeemi told Pajhwok Afghan News during an interview that 168 important reconstruction projects were executed and put into service at a cost of 1.7 billion afghanis.
