KHOST (Pajhwok): Women social activists and community leaders in the south eastern Khost province urged upon the new President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai on Saturday to strive for peace in the country and ensure gender justice while distributing power.

SHARAN/KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Residents of southeastern Khost and Paktika provinces on Wednesday urged the unity government to concentrate on bringing peace and eliminating corruption.

In Paktika, a large number of officials, including the governor, tribal elders and local residents attended a gathering in Sharan. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Attaullah Fazli said the unity government was in the interest of Afghans.

KHOST City (Pajhwok): Residents of southeastern Khost province on Thursday complained the electoral tension had rendered many people jobless besides increasing insecurity.

They asked the Independent Election Commission (IEC) to announce results from the disputed presidential election in order the political crisis could be subsided.

The vote audit process has already finished days ago, but the two presidential candidates remain reluctant to implement the agreement they signed last month on forming a national unity government.

 
KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Dr. Abdullah Abdullah’s supporters in southeastern Khost province on Sunday called for formation of a unity government, urging the Independent Election Commission (IEC) not to announce the final results.
