WASHINGTON (PAN): Strongly condemning the terrorist attack on the US Consulate in Herat, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Friday asserted no terrorist act could reverse the path toward Afghan-led peace, democracy and stability.

 
KABUL (PAN): Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) Abdul Khaliq Farahi on Saturday called southeastern Khost province an emerging commercial hub of Afghanistan.
Addressing a daylong conference in Kabul, he said Khost was ranked a 3rd grade province, but it had the status of a 1st grade province, given its revenue-generating potential.

 
KABUL (PAN0: Five top officials have been dismissed as part of ongoing efforts to improve the working of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), an official said on Saturday.
The sacked officials include deputy ministers of administration and Logistics, and directors of prisons, counterterrorism and security for international projects.
Ghulam Siddique Siddiqui, the ministry spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the officials had been fired by Omar Daudzai, the acting minister.

 
KABUL (PAN): The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) on Saturday announced closing nine of its regional offices in the country. The mission’s office in Khost province will be shut in two weeks.
UNAMA’s deputy country director told the Khost Development Conference the mission started closing provincial offices two years ago. The Khost office will be wound up by the end of the current month.
