KABUL (PAN): Seeking to defend human rights and national interests, a new political party called “Harkat-i-Milli” -- involving intellectuals, academicians and influential figures -- came into existence on Wednesday.
Announcing the party’s launch at a press conference in Kabul, the National Movement central leader and spokesman Mohammad Ishaqzai said they had long been deliberating on the party’s creation.

 
KABUL (PAN): A key opposition leader on Tuesday warned President Hamid Karzai against influencing the electoral process, saying that the head of state would live a respectable life after his retirement if he stayed neutral.
National Coalition of Afghanistan leader Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said that rulers of the day and political leadership could prove their worth by holding free, transparent and inclusive elections, scheduled for April 2014.

 
KABUL (PAN): More than a thousand people on Tuesday said conducting presidential and provincial council elections in 2014 would be impossible and hence the need for delaying the polls until 2018.
Elders, youth and public representatives from all 34 provinces, who participated in a meeting at a hotel in Kabul, called for the delay to ensure credible elections.
