KABUL (PAN): The National Front of Afghanistan on Wednesday said calling a Loya Jirga on the proposed Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) with the US would be illegal.
The government says it plans to convene a Loya Jirga in the next two months to deliver a final word on the fate of the agreement.
But ANF leader Ahmad Zia Massoud told a news conference in Kabul the move was illegal and shorn of constitutional sanction.

 
KABUL (PAN): A major coalition of political parties to be formed in the next few days would introduce a consensus nominee for the presidential election, a politician said on Wednesday.

KABUL (PAN): President Hamid Karzai has said he is not backing any particular candidate for next year’s presidential elections.
The president told a delegation of the Afghanistan Women’s Network (AWN) reports in local and foreign media about his support for a specific candidate were baseless.

KABUL (PAN): Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Omar Daudzai on Saturday announced his nomination for next year’s presidential ballot.
A statement from his newly established office in Kabul said Daudzai was likely to run for the top constitutional office in the April 5, 2014 election.
His office coordinator, Mohammad Sangar Amirzada, told Pajhwok Afghan News they had not yet launched a formal campaign. But they are consulting supporters.
