KABUL (PAN): The National Front of Afghanistan on Wednesday said calling a Loya Jirga on the proposed Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) with the US would be illegal.
The government says it plans to convene a Loya Jirga in the next two months to deliver a final word on the fate of the agreement.
But ANF leader Ahmad Zia Massoud told a news conference in Kabul the move was illegal and shorn of constitutional sanction.
He said the opposition alliance and civil society groups would not accept any decision taken by such an assembly. Massoud suggested the government should consult political parties before taking a final decision on the BSA.
