Baha-u-din Baha son of Ghulam Nabi is born in 1942 in Herat province. Mr. Baha was graduated of Arabic Studies Center in Kabul in the year 1960 which was considered as an equivalent to bachelor’s degree by Al Azhar University. Mr. Baha after receiving specialization in Islamic Law in the year 1964 he later continued his education at master’s level in Bilford university of USA.
Mr. Baha has worked in the following positions since 1964:

  • Director of legal verdict of the ministry of justice 1965
  • Judge of the commercial court of the Kabul province 1965-1968
  • Director of commercial court of Herat 1967-1972
  • Chief of the office of the prime minister of the time Dr Muhammad Musa Shafiq 1972-1973

  • Director of commercial court of Kandahar province 1977-1980
  • Instructor of judicial interns course 1980-1989
  • Director of commercial division of the Supreme Court and member of the judicial council 1980-1989

2-Muhammad Qasim Dost:
Supreme Court High Council Member
Service period, four years
Muhammad Qasim Dost son of Ghulam Jan was born in 1938 in the Pashayee village of the Laghman province and has continued his education at the bachelor’s degree level in the Islamic Law University of Kabul. From 1961 to 1971 as Mofti of the court of the Kohistan district, Mofti of Khogiani court, judge of the Royee Do Aub court of Samangan province, judge of primary court of Tashqurghan, Judge of the primary court of Injil district of Herat province, judge of the primary court of Sorkhroad district of Nanagarhar province. In 1972 as the judge of criminal division of Kabul province court and as deputy of criminal division. From 1974 to 1978 as the director of appeals court of Farayb province and afterward until 1981 as the member of criminal division of the Supreme Court and in 1982 went to Saudia Arabia heading a delegation of Hajj management and after that separated from communist regime and travelled abroad. Mr. Muhammad Qasim after joining the Mujahidin movements was assigned as the inspection director of the tripartite Mujahidin coalition and at the same time had the membership of fourteen member team of establishment of Mujahidin interim administration. Mr. Muhammad Qasim Dost after the victory of Mujahidin was the member of 34 member council of Mujahidin who came to Kabul to manage the hand over process of government from communists to Mujahidin and in 1992 he was appointed as the attorney general and received Saranpoh academic rank. Mr. Muhammad Qasim Dost has worked as the minister of justice, attorney general and minister of Haj and Religious Affairs during Jihad and resistance Period (northern Alliance). After establishment of the interim administration he worked as the deputy finance and administration of Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs and member of legal and judicial commission. Mr. Muhammad Qasim Dost was appointed as the member of the Supreme Court in the year 2006 and was given the title of Qhazawtpoh (academic rank) through a presidential decree.
3-Ghulam Nabi Nawayee
Member of the Supreme Court and director of public security of the Supreme Court
Service period, seven years
Mr. Nawayee was born in 1960 in Faryab province and is graduated of Islamic Law university of Kabul in the 1983.Mr. Nawayee after being appointed in the judiciary has worked as the judge of city court of Maimana, director of appeals court of Faryab, director of commercial division of central appeals court, director of commercial court of Kabul province and last job as director of appeal courts of Kapisa province. After that Mr. Nawayee was assigned as the member of the Supreme Court in the year 2006 which was endorsed by the president and approved by the parliament was at the beginning the director of commercial division of the Supreme Court and he is currently the director of public security division of the Supreme Court.
 4-Muhammad Alim Nasimi:
Member of the Supreme Court and Director of civil and public division of the Supreme Court
Service period, ten years
Muhammad Alim Nasim son of Muhammad Nasim was born in 1945 in Logar province and after completion of his primary and secondary school he was enrolled in Islamic Law faculty of Kabul University was graduated of the judicial department of this university and from 1969 to present has been performing the following jobs:

  • Member of primary court of Dehsabz – Kabul in 1349
  • Judge of primary court of Urozgan province in 1350
  • Member of appeal court of Logar province in 1353
  • Director of civil primary court of first district of Kabul city 1357
  • Director of criminal division of Kabul first district in the year 1358
  • Director of criminal division of Kabul appeals court 1359
  • Member of civil and public division of the appeals court of the Kabul province in the year 1370
  • Member of the Supreme Court and judge of the criminal division of the Supreme Court in the year 1372
  • Member of the special properties court for immigrants and returnees in the year 1382
  • Director of special primary court of properties in the year 1383
  • And his last job was as the director of appeals court of Kabul province

 5- Muhammad Omar Babarakzai
Member of the Supreme Court
Service period, Seven Years
Mr. Muhammad Omar Babrakzai son of Shir Muhammad Khan was born in 1950 in Khost province. Mr. Babarakzai was graduated of Istiqhlal high school in 1964 and has received his bachelor’s degree in judicial field of law and political science faculty of Kabul University, Mr. Babrakzai received a diploma in the judicial field from public administration institute of France and has been the top student among students from Asian, African and Latin America countries. Mr. Babrakzai has successfully completed his reserved military course in 1969 among 1200 students he has received the first position and has been awarded a gold medal. In 1970 Mr. Babrakzai successfully completed the third phase of judicial interns course.

 6-Abdul Rashid Rashed:
Member of the Supreme Court and Director of military and internal and external security division of the Supreme Court

Abdul Rashid Rashed was born in 1941 in Baghlan province. Mr. Rashed after completion of his primary and secondary education in 1964 was graduated of Islamic Law university of Kabul and after of completion reserve course in 1965 he performed different duties and attended various professional training programs. Mr. Abdul Rashi Rashed after receiving membership of the Supreme Court for ten years was firstly appointed as the director of criminal division of the Supreme Court and currently as the director of military crimes and internal and external security division of the Supreme Court.
 7-Pohand Abdul Aziz (Aziz)
Member of the Supreme Court

Abdul Aziz (Aziz) son of Ali Ahmad was born in an educated family in Kabul province in 1938. He completed his primary education in Mir Bacha Koot primary school. He was enrolled in Sharia Studies Academy (Madrasa) currently known by Abo Hanifa Academcy (Madrasa) in 1951. He graduated from same Madrassa in 1956 with high grades. Pohand Aziz was enrolled in Faculty of Islamic studies of Kabul University in 1957. After graduation in 1960 he started to serve the government in Kabul University. In order to continue with his higher education Mr. Aziz through a scholarship travelled to Arabic Republic of Egypt in 1963 and received his diploma from Al Azhar University in Islamic studies majoring in personal affairs. After his graduation Mr. Aziz received his master’s degree in comparative jurisprudence (Comparative Study of Islam) and returned to the country in 1967. Mr. Aziz 1968 served the country as member of professional cadre of the Islamic studies faculty of Kabul University and still continues his holy job. Mr. Aziz travelled to United States of America to improve his English Language skills in 1972 and in 1976 he attended a legal training program in United States of America where he was enrolled in Law Faculty of George Washington University and received his master’s equivalent degree in comparative law. He is was actively involved in academic works, visits and has gained rich legal expertise during his studies in United States of America, Cairo and teaching period in Kabul university.
8-Mr. Zamen Ali Behsodi
Member of the Supreme Court
Service period, four years
He was born in 1936 in the Behsood district of Maidan Wardak province. Mr. Behsodi is graduated of Islamic Law Faculty of Kabul University in 1959 and higher than bachelor’s degree in field of jurisprudence and law from Al Ahzar University, Egypt in 1974. He has worked as judge in different courts of the center and provinces. Deputy of Accounting court of the prime minister, director of Kundoz province court, judge of the Supreme Court and member of the civil and public rights division of the Supreme Court, director of commercial division and member of the high council of the Supreme Court, director of the court of judges and conflict of authorities, and repeatedly as the director of commercial division and member of the high council of the Supreme Court, university professor of Islamic studies, member of the commercial division of the Supreme Court and recently as judicial counselor of the criminal division of the Supreme Court.
 9-Dr. Abdul Malik Kamawi
Member of the Supreme Court
Dr. Abdul Malik Kamawy s/o Maulawi Abdul Ali Kamawy s/o the renowned scholar Maulawi Ghulam Nabi Kamawy was born in 1968 in Kama district of Nangarhar province. Mr. Kamawy completed his higher education in Law and Jurisprudence from Sharia faculty of Dawat-o-Jihad University in Pakistan. He further continued his post graduate studies in Al Azhar University and got his Masters and PhD in Law and Jurisprudence. Upon the establishment of the interim government, based on the request of the Ministry of Justice, he was appointed as the advisor to the Minister of Justice. He has also worked as the Deputy Secretary of the Constitution Commission and legal advisor to the chairman of the Constitution Loya Jirga (grand council). He was appointed as legal advisor and in charge of the office for the candidates of the presidential election for the Joint Election Management Body. In 2004, he was appointed as the General Administration Director of the Judiciary. He is a member of the judiciary and holds judicial cadre grade of “Qazawatpoh”. Dr. Kamawy has more than 15 academic works, in different legal and jurisprudence fields, which are as follow:

Besides, there are many other legal and academic articles published by him, most of which have been published in the journals inside and outside of the country. Dr. Kamawy has also taken part in writing of books under the topic of “Activities and Achievements of the Judiciary in Five Years”, “Administrative Reform and Anti Corruption in the Judiciary” and “A Look at the Judicial Cooperation between Egypt and Afghanistan”. Dr. Kamawy has participated in more than ten international conferences in Germany, Holland, Turkmenistan, France, Spain, Italy, Ireland and Egypt and he can write and speak in Dari, Pashto, Arabic and English. During his discharge of the official duty, he has twice been awarded first grade appreciation letters by the President and three times second grade appreciation letters by the chief justice of the Supreme Court. Similarly, he has received many other appreciation letters as well.
