GHAZNI CITY (PAN): A district headquarters has been relocated in southern Ghazni province due to security concerns, an official said on Wednesday.
The Zankhan district centre was shifted to a place near Ghazni City due to continuing Taliban attacks, the provincial police chief said.
Brig. Gen. Zarawar Zahid told Pajhwok Afghan News 10 security posts had been established to guard the headquarters five kilometers from Ghazni City.

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Around 11,000 people, including 3,000 women, have been issued with voter cards so far in southern Ghazni province, officials said on Friday.  
Voter registration centres were yet to be opened in Taliban-infested Zankhan and Nawa districts, an Independent Election Commission (IEC) spokesman confirmed.
Noor Mohammad Noor told Pajhwok Afghan News efforts were underway to open the registration centres as soon as possible.

 
GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Nearly a dozen insurgents were killed during separate clashes with security forces in Gilan and Zankhan districts of southern Ghazni province, officials said on Sunday.
Five rebels were killed and four others wounded during a clash in the Rashko village of Gilan on Sunday morning, an Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander, Syed Ali, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

 
GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Security personnel have arrested a woman in southern Ghazni province on the charge of keeping a kidnapped lawmaker from Kandahar province in her house, officials said on Wednesday.
MP Fariba Ahmadi Kakar was kidnapped along with her children by Taliban 12 days ago in the Noghi area on the Kabul-Kandahar highway on the outskirts of Ghazni City. Later, her children were freed but she is still in captivity.

 
GHAZNI CITY (PAN): The Polish and US Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRTs) in the southern province of Ghazni were formally closed on Saturday, with local officials criticising its activities.
The PRTs had spent $168 million on health, education and development projects over the past 11 years, a representative of US embassy in Kabul, Ms Karen Dakaria, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
