11 militants dead in Ghazni firefights

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Nearly a dozen insurgents were killed during separate clashes with security forces in Gilan and Zankhan districts of southern Ghazni province, officials said on Sunday.
Five rebels were killed and four others wounded during a clash in the Rashko village of Gilan on Sunday morning, an Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander, Syed Ali, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The clash took place as militants were spotted planting mines on a road between Gilan and Maqur districts, he said. Two motorcycles and four Kalashnikovs were recovered from the fighters.
Half a dozen militants were killed by police during an overnight firefight in Zankhan district. Secretary to the governor, Nabi Jan, said police stayed unharmed during the firefight in Godal village.
