GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Officials on Friday accused the Taliban of seizing 20 people from vehicles in the Malistan district of southern Ghazni province.
Three days ago, the fighters abducted 20 civilians in Jaghori and Gilan districts, but later they freed four of them while the fate of 16 others remains unknown.

 
GHAZNI CITY (PAN):  The contract for building an airport in southern Ghazni province was awarded on Tuesday to a company that would implement the project in a year, officials said.
Aerial travel facility would be provided to thousands of people from Ghazni and neighbouring provinces with the construction of the airport, Deputy Governor Mohammad Ali Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

GHAZNI (PAN): The government has completed hundreds of development projects during the past five years in Ghazni city and southern districts of the province but the 2013 projects have been postponed due to the reasons best known to the concerned authorities.    

Ghazni (PAN): The education sector moves forward with tandem in the Ghazni province but there are some tangible problems that hampering the development of the much-needed sector.
Offering a detailed picture amid bitter realities, Ihsanullah Nashir, Ghazni education department head told Pajhwok Afghan News that most of the schools are closed down because of non-existence of proper buildings and lack of professional teachers.  

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Most residents in Ghazni province say insecurity, joblessness, low quality of education, lack of attention of the officials, and presence of administrative corruption as the main problems in the areas and demand addressing these problems.
Haji Asadullah, resident of Giro district told Pajhwok Afghan News that lack of security, joblessness and lack of attention of officials to education were the key problems in the district.
He added during the last ten years none of the problems of the district have been addressed.

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): The official in southern Ghazni province said that 80% residents depend on the agriculture and livestock, but due to lack of water resources, market and the storage facilities the farmers and landlords face problems.
The trade also has its importance, as the province is located on the route of several provinces, and the business of many provinces including Paktia, Paktika, Zabul and MaidanWardak are carried out in Ghazni province.
Agriculture:

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Residents of southern Ghazni province want the Afghan government and the international community to address their pressing problems, including insecurity, joblessness, promotion of quality education, enforcement of women’s rights and sending them abroad for higher studies.
Key demands of Ghazni dwellers included better security in the province and the elimination of unemployment, provincial council member Hamida Gulistani told Pajhwok Afghan News.
