GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Religious scholars in southern Ghazni province on Sunday asked women to participate in the April 5 elections and support candidates of their choice.
The call came at seminar organised by the Independent Election Commission (IEC). Scholars said women and men had equal rights and both should take active part in elections.

Ulema want women to participate in polls

CHAGHCHARAN (Pajhwok): A civil society network on Saturday opened an office in northwestern Ghor province in a bid to ensure transparency and monitoring the upcoming elections.
The network--- consists of 24 provincial civil society institutions--- officially opened its office in Chaghcharan, the provincial capital in order to monitor the April 5 presidential and provincial council elections.

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Religious scholars in southern Ghazni province on Wednesday urged families not to bar female members from casting their votes in next month’s elections.
The views were expressed at a day-long similar “Women’s Participation in Elections from Islamic Perspective” in Ghazni City, where government officials, religious scholars and civil society activists and a number of women were in attendance.
