JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Another family lost 10 members when the roof of their house caved in due to continuous rain in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.
The deaths in Dara-i-Noor district on Saturday night came hours after a family in the Sherzad district lost eight members to a similar incident.
The governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News the latest fatalities also included women and children. He said the roof fell in following incessant rains in the area.

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three persons were killed and 13 others wounded when the convoy of Wolesi Jirga member Faridoon Momand came under suicide attack in Jalalabad City, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, officials said.
Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the attack on Momand took place late Friday close to Kama district but the MP escaped unhurt.
Momand was on his way to Jalalabad City from Kama district when a suicide bomber riding an explosive-laden car attacked MP’s convoy near Kama Bridge.

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A powerful delegation from Kabul on Tuesday arrived in eastern Nangarhar province to investigate administrative corruption and identify factors contributing to insecurity.
Led by Interior Minister Noorul Haq Ulumi, the delegation met local officials and residents at a gathering in Jalalabad, the provincial capital.
President Ghani directed the delegation two weeks ago during a video conference with provincial governors of eastern provinces to investigate problems in these provinces and find solution to them.

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): After losing a colleague to a bomb attack, female provincial council members of eastern Nangarhar province on Monday expressed concern over their security.
Angiza Shinwari, a member of the Nangarhar provincial council, was seriously injured in a bomb blast in Jalalabad, the provincial capital over a week ago and was shifted to a Kabul for treatment, but died of her wounds at a hospital.
Nangarhar female PC members said that they were worried about their security and the government should ensure their protection.
