Nangarhar governor urges early execution of key projects

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The governor of eastern Nangarhar province has asked the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) for stepping up work on the Jalalabad-Kabul highway’s second lane and Behsud Bridge.
Salim Khan Kunduzi conveyed his message regarding the early completion of the projects to some ministers during his stay in Kabul, the governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
During a meeting with Public Works Minister Eng. Mahmood Baligh, Kunduzi referred to a delay in the execution of some projects in the province.
The completion of the Jalalabad-Kabul highway’s second lane, the Behsud bridge, asphalting of some roads and dispatch of a technical team to inspect the ring road in Spin Ghar valley also came up for discussion at the meeting.
The minister and his deputy pledged to pay special attention to the development projects in Nangarhar and assured the governor issues regarding the schemes would be resolved soon.
Kunduzi also held meetings with the ministers of mine and petroleum and rural rehabilitation and development. He stressed the need for exploiting the mining wealth in Nangarhar.
