The Nangarhar province has 22 districts (Administrative Units) and its capital Nangarhar city comprised five municipality districts.
Jalalabad City:  in accordance with historical records, Jalalabad city has previously named as Jalal Kot, was constructed based on the order of Jalalu Din Mohammad Akbar, Mughuli King of Northern India in 990 lunar year. This city was destroyed as a result of heavy floods in 1880, but was reconstructed later as a part of the Master Plan of the New city. Jalalabad has five municipality districts.  
Kuz Kunar District:  Kuz Kunar is one of the agricultural districts of Nangarhar Province which has lots of natural water resources. This district is located 25 KM north of Jalalabad City, along whose borders Kunar River flows. Kuz Kunar is counted is considered as secure districts of Nangarhar Province.
Momandara District: Momandara is located 40 KM east of Jalalabad city, with the Kunar River flows inside it. Most of the inhabitants of the district are busy in agriculture, with Gerdi Ghaws shrine was located on outskirts of the district.
Kama District: compared to other districts of Nangarhar Province, Kama comprised more agricultural lands and orchards, which shared borders with Goshta and Khiwi Districts. Cane sugar, rice and other vegetables were among the main products of the town, while prominent writers and think-tanks have also belonged to Kama district.
Behsud District: Behsood is a populated district that located close to the provincial capital and famous Mosque of Ada-i-Akhondzada is located in this district. Moreover, the well-known national poet, Malang Jan was also belonged to this town.
Rodat District: Rodat is located 18 kilometres east of Jalalabad city, where mega project of ex-king Amanullah Khan, industrial park, new custom and train stations are under construction there. More other projects were underway.
Koot District: Koot is located 25 kilometres southeast of Jalalabad city, which comprised less agricultural lands and has less population compared to other districts.
Batikoot District: Located 30 kilometres east of the provincial capital, Batikoot is a flourishing district where Nangarhar Nava project is set to be executed. Thousands of hectares of land in this district is covered by olive, citrus and other ornamental trees, where agricultural lands and gardens being irrigated through water of Nangarhar canal.  
Ghanikhel District: Ghanikhel is located 40 kilometres east of Jalalabad city, which was named as big district of Shinwar in the past. Having more population compared to other districts, most residents of Ghanikhel were busy in private business. The Gollayee area, which known birth place of Wazir Mohammad Gul Khan, is belonged to Ghanikhel district.
Nazyan District: Nazyan is located 50 kilometres southeast of the provincial capital and its most residents are busy of livestock. Most parts of the town is mountainous, where people are busy in business of brining firewood from mountains.
Achin district: Achin is one of the remote district of Nangarhar province which located in southeast of Jalalabad city. Being considered as volatile part of the province, residents of Achin district are busy in agriculture and livestock.
Spin Ghar District: Spin Ghar is located southeast of Jalalabad city, which shared border with Nazyan district and its most residents are busy in agriculture and other private works.
Door Baba District: Door Baba is one of the border districts of Nangarhar province and its major parts comprised hills and mountains. This district is located 100 kilometres southeast of Jalalabad city, which has less agricultural lands, with the famous shrine of Door Baba is also located in it.
Dara-i-Noor District: Dara-i-Noor is a mountainous district located 47 kilometres from the provincial capital and its residents speak by Pashayee language, who are busy in agriculture and livestock. Its famous product is cheese.
Lal Pora District: Lal Pora is one of the border districts of Nangarhar province which located 50 kilometres from the Jalalabad city. The two rivers of Kabul and Kunar provinces were passing through this district and its most residents are busy in commerce, livestock and agriculture. Lal Pora is located alongside Goshta district and shared long border with neighbouring Pakistan.
Goshta District: Goshta is one of the border district of Nangarhar province which located 40 kilometres northeast of Jalalabad city. Goshta is located alongside Kama district and shared long border with neighbouring Pakistan. Most parts of this district are mountainous and its residents are busy in private business.
Sorkh Roud District: Sorkh Roud is located 10 kilometres west of Jalalabad city and its most residents are speaking by Dari language. Having shared borders with the provincial capital, Sorkh Roud comprised agriculture lands and other factories. The ancient shrine of Shah Faizullah Agha and caves of Buddhists were also located in this district.
Chaparhar District: Chaparhar is located in south of Jalalabad city, which shared borders with Bihsud district and the provincial capital. Being a populated district, Chaparhar is located 15 kilometres of Jalalabad city.
  Khogyani District: Khogyani, which capital is known as Kagi bazaar, is located 20 kilomteres southeast of Jalalabad city and its some parts are faced lack of water. Sharing border with Spin Ghar district, the weather in Khogyani is cold compared to other parts of the province, where many people are busy in agriculture and private business.
Haska Mina District: Haska Mina is located south of Jalalabad city, which has many mountains and hills and shared short border with Pakistan and Koot district. Some mountains in the town were covered by forests of walnuts.
Pachiragam District: Pachiragam is located 35 kilometres south of the provincial capital, which shared border with Charparhar district. This district comprised many agricultural lands, where people are busy in crop growing.
Shirzad District: Shirzad is located in west of the provincial capital, which more agricultural lands and it’s people economy is good. Located 60 kilometres from Jalalabad city, this district has shared borders with Hisarak and Khogyano districts.
Hisarak District: Hisarak is located 120 kilometres southwest of Jalalabad city, which shared with southeastern Khost province. Most residents of the district were busy in livestock and private business, from where the Lata Band route is extended to capital.
