JALALABAD (PAN): The eastern Nangarhar province has abundant mines of marbles and luminous stones, which need to be extracted in a professional and legal way. 
 
According to the survey conducted back in 1956, large scale mines of marble and luminous stones in Nangarhar could be found from Hisarak to Dor Baba district along the hills of Spin Ghar (White Mountains).
 
Eng. Shakrullah Tolo, provincial head of mines, told Pajhwok Afghan News a five years long survey was underway in the province in order to properly identify the existence of natural resources.

Jalalabad (PAN): Nangarhar Governor’s spokesperson Ahmad Zia Abdulzai has said that hundreds of big and small development projects have been completed in the province during the last eight years.
“Multiple development projects and the construction of around hundreds of kilometers paved roads linking at least 20 districts including the Laghman-Torkham Highway have been completed. The construction of the direly needed roads helped minimize the problems of the commuters.

JALALABAD (PAN): The officials in eastern Nangarhar Province say that 75 percent economy of the province depends on the development of agriculture and livestock, expressing concern that the growth of agriculture sector faces multiple challenges. 
“The agriculture sector faces hindrances despite the fact that the livestock and agriculture contribute 75 percent to the Nangarhar Province’s economy. The problems face by the agro sector leaves negative impact on the growers,” the officials said.

JALALABAD (PAN): Residents of various districts of the eastern Nangarhar province complain of deteriorated security situation elsewhere in the province amid raging terror attempts, abduction, and roadside bomb blasts, blaming the authorities of turning blind eye to check the situation. 
However, concerned officials of the province while refuting residents’ complain of mayhem and turmoil, said that security has witnessed considerable improvement in the province as compared to the past.

‘Nangarhar education sector witnesses considerable improvement but problems persist’
Jalabad City (PAN): Provincial Press Officer Education Directorate said though the education sector still faces challenges but much more have been achieved to promote the vital sector in Nangarhar province during the last five years.
