KABUL (PAN): Some political experts believe the new cabinet is lacking the potential to bring about positive changes which could help shape the destiny of Afghans, but others perceive the situation could improve if the honesty is valued. The Wolesi Jirga or Lower House of Parliament on Saturday received a list of 23 ministers for a vote of confidence.

KABUL (PAN): The dwellers of this central capital city have expressed their dissatisfaction over the introduction of new cabinet members doubting their abilities of bringing healthy changes into the lives of commoners.

WASHINGTON (PAN): The Obama administration, repudiating a news report that said a plan was moved by a former UN official to remove President Hamid Karzai, has asserted the option of dislodging the Afghan leader was never discussed.

KABUL (PAN): After a lot of procrastination, President Hamid Karzai has finally decided to submit a list of new ministers to the Wolesi Jirga, lower house parliament on Saturday, for a vote of confidence before the cabinet could start working, an official said on Friday‏.‏

WASHINGTON (PAN): The Obama administration, staying in close consultation with President Hamid Karzai and his team, has refuted media concerns that a delay in announcement of the new cabinet is reflective of problems in the Afghan government. "We are carrying on very close consultations with Karzai and his advisors as he goes forward in forming a new government. This is a very important next step in Afghanistan's democratic development," State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters at his daily news briefing.

KABUL (PAN): EU Election Observation Mission chief in Afghanistan Thijs Berman has called upon President Hamid Karzai not to select members of the Independent Election Commission (IEC).

KABUL (PAN): The attorney-general's office Wednesday submitted to the Wolesi Jirga, lower house of parliament, a list of 17 senior government officials facing corruption cases, a legislator revealed.
