KABUL (PAN): Wolesi Jirga Member Allah Gul Mujahid on Thursday rejected police allegations, saying if the charges were substantiated against him, he would step down.
The Kabul crime branch chief on Tuesday accused Mujahid of seizing government land, involvement in murder, robberies and kidnappings. He asked the government and the lower house to issue arrest orders for Mujahid.

KABUL (PAN): Wolesi Jirga members, debating a draft law on higher education that has been delayed for seven years, on Wednesday once again clashed over the expressions used for university and academic ranks in Pashtu and Dari languages.

KABUL (PAN): The police headquarters on Tuesday asked the Wolesi Jirga to issue arrest orders for MP Allah Gul Mujahid, who was accused of grabbing government land, as well as involvement in murder and kidnaps.
At a press conference, the Kabul crime branch chief, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zahir, alleged Japanese engineers who had gone to Deh Sabz district last week were detained by Mujahid’s armed supporters.

KABUL (PAN): Independent Election Commission (IEC) chief Fazl Ahmad Manawi said on Monday since the commencement of the voter registration process on May 26, nearly 75,000 individuals had been issued with voting cards. But the number of women card recipients remained low.

KABUL (PAN): Finance Minister Omar Zakhilwal, who was called by the Wolesi Jirga for his failure to appear before the lower house in defiance of summons, survived a no-trust motion on Monday.
Dissatisfied with his explanations about the involvement of some lawmakers in smuggling, the lower house decided to vote a no-confidence motion against the finance minister.
