LASHKARGAH/ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Separate gatherings were held in on support of presidential runners Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, Zalmai Rassoul, Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf and Gul Agha Sherzai in Helmand and Logar provinces on Wednesday.
Hundreds of Helmand residents announced their support to Ahmadzai. The candidate’s campaign leader in the province, Haji Bismillah Rohani, said a majority of residents supported Ahmadzai as next president.

 
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Hundreds of policemen on Monday completed an election security course in southern Helmand province. Presidential and provincial polls are slated for April 5.
Addressing the passing-out ceremony, Training Centre Commander Abdul Mohammad Zafarkhel said the policemen had been taught how to ensure security of polling stations.
The graduates included 270 sergeants and members of local as well as regular police, he said, adding that they would be deployed to different parts of the province. 

 
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Presidential contender Dr. Zalmai Rassoul on Sunday pledged bolstering security across the country and increasing power-generating capacity of the Kajaki dam in southern Helmand province.
Addressing a campaign rallies here, he said: “After stepping up security, increasing the capacity of Kajaki power dam will be my second priority. Electricity from the dam will be supplied to other provinces.”

 
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The Nad Ali district chief in southern Helmand province on Thursday said the security situation in his town had improved after a security operation that enabled security forces to protect polling stations and prevent poppy cultivation.
In an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, Mohammad Ibrahim said residents of the district were no longer required to travel to the provincial capital, Lashkargah, for resolving their problems.
