80 ALP recruits complete training

LASHKARGAH (PAN): Nearly 80 Afghan Local Police (APL) recruits have completed a month-long training in southern Helmand province, an official said on Friday.
Provincial police chief, Col. Nabi Ilham, told Pajhwok Afghan News the first-ever batch of 79 ALP recruits had been trained in Helmand.
The ALP members were taught different fighting techniques, law-enforcement skills and good conduct with residents, said Col. Ilham, who added the training process would continue.
Col. Abdul Mohammad Zafarkhel, the ALP training centre commander, noted improvement in mentoring standards after the centre’s transfer to Afghan authorities.
Mohammad Haider, one of the graduates from Garmser district, acknowledged learning a lot of professional skills from his trainers.
