LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) in southern Helmand province received 350 complaints mostly against the Independent Election Commission (IEC) during Wolesi Jirga elections.
Asadullah Ehsani, head of the provincial IECC, told a gathering that 350 complaints had landed in the IECC some are supported by evidence and some are merely claims.
“Ballots have been casted after the legal time, fake Tazkeras had been used and the election candidates have interfered in the process,” he said, adding, fraud and transparent votes would be separated until November 6.
Helmand’s IEC Head Hasham Durrani said the election process was hampered by technical issues but the commission employees never involved in favoritism.
He said low turnout during elections showed the level of rigging was low in Helmand where 317,000 persons had registered as voter out of which only 53,000 casted their votes.
