KABUL (PAN): Women from the central province of Logar were trained on election procedures, rights and responsibilities at a one-day training arranged by the Women Affairs Department in Pul-i-Alam.

KHOST CITY (PAN): Kochis living in the southeastern province of Khost have warned of boycotting the upcoming polls if the construction of a border police post close to a religious school in their area is not halted.

 LASHKARGAH (PAN): Two hundreds policemen have completed a short-term police training course to strengthen their ability to ensure security for the August 20 elections in the volatile southern province of Helmand.

KABUL: (PAN): The US ambassador has described the August 20 presidential and provincial council elections as a key milestone in Afghanistans democracy.

KABUL (PAN): A three-day training seminar on polling, vote count and announcement of results got under way here on Tuesday. Around a hundred provincial workers of the Electoral Complaints Commission are attending the event.

KABUL (PAN): A spokesman of President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday said elaborate security arrangements have been made for holding the August 20 presidential and provincial council elections in a peaceful manner.
