KHOST CITY (PAN): Tribal elders, provincial council members and civil society activists on Monday staged a protest demonstration in southeastern Khost province against the Wolesi Jirga’s decision unseating interior minister Mujtaba Patang.
The council chief, Syed Karim Khan Khaksar, told Pajhwok Afghan News the lower house’s decision was unjust and unacceptable to the people of Khost.

KHOST CITY (PAN):Unidentified gunmen shot dead six people, including a brother of the district chief, in restive southeastern Khost province, bordering Pakistan, on Sunday morning, official and residents said.
Mohammad Younus, the Ismail Khail Mandozai district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the gunmen mounted an attack on the home of his counterpart for Spera town, Mohammad Azim, in Lalma area. Six individuals were killed on the spot.

 
KHOST CITY (PAN): Dozens of tribal disputes over property ownership have been resolved over the past two years in the southeastern Khost province, a senior official claimed on Sunday.
At least 30 disputes over ownership of mountains, deserts, forests and cultivable land were settled by a joint commission having representatives of government institutions, civil society and tribal elders, the Khost governor said.

KHOST (PAN): Almost 80% economy of the residents of southeastern Khost Province depends on agriculture and livestock, officials said.
On path of achieving tangible progress, the business and agriculture sectors need more attention to be developed on modern lines.
Agriculture:
Dr. Abdul Rahim, director agriculture, irrigation, and livestock told Pajhwok Afghan News that the agro sector has the capacity for further development but the problems including the irrigation water shortage being faced by the farmers need urgent attention to be tackled. 

KHOST CITY (PAN): For the last few years, the strategically located Khost Province is heading on path to progress in terms of completion of development projects but some of the schemes are yet to be completed, officials and residents say.
   
Khost Governor Abdul Jabar Naeemi said that the province sees huge improvement in reconstruction sector during the last ten years. He said that roads linking districts with the provincial capital have been paved.
