KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): The police chief of southern Kandahar province on Monday rejected as false a Taliban allegation that their 32 prisoners had been tortured to death in district jails.
A Taliban spokesman Qari Yousuf Ahmadi in a statement has alleged 18 Taliban inmates were killed in detention by police in Arghistan district, six in Spin Boldak and eight in Takhta Pul over the past few days.

 
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): The police chief for southern Kandahar province on Thursday blasted Iran for overtly supplying weapons to the Taliban.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Razzaq told reporters in Kandahar City the neighbouring country aided the insurgents clandestinely in the past. But now it is openly supporting the militants.
Security forces had recently captured 50 made-in-Iran assault rifles during recent operations in Kandahar, Uruzgan and Zabul provinces, he claimed.

 
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A deminer was killed in a NATO airstrike in the Panjwai district of southern Kandahar province on Monday, local officials said.
The incident took place in the Zangabad area before noon, the governor’s spokesman, Javed Faisal, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

 
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Two members of the Taliban were killed when one of the two roadside bombs they were planting exploded prematurely in the Buldak district of southern Kandahar province, the governor’s house said on Tuesday.
The blast took place on Monday afternoon in the Kareez area, the governor’s office said in a statement.
After the blast, Afghan forces who reached the site confiscated four improvised explosive devices (IED), a radio, a motorbike and an AK-47, leaving behind the dead bodies.
