KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): The Taliban have decapitated two boys in the Zherai district of southern Kandahar province, local authorities said on Monday, but insurgents spurned the claim as baseless.
A statement from the governor’s house said the victims, hailing from Nada area, had been seized by the militants a day earlier. The boys, scavenging garbage in the locality, were aged 10 and 16.

 
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A gymnasium is being built in the capital of southern Kandahar province at a cost of $6050000 to lure youth into whole sports, the governor said on Monday.
Toryalai Weesa, during a visit to the project site, told reporters the project on Do Rahi area of the city was being funded by the Ministry of Counter-Narcotics.

 
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Kandahar High Peace Council chief Haji Atta Mohammad Ahmadi on Wednesday hoped the Taliban’s office in Qatar would have a positive impact on security and efforts at achieving peace in Afghanistan.
Talking to reporters at the Media and Information Center in Kandahar city, the provincial capital, Ahmadi said the Afghan Taliban were optimistic their Qatar office would increase their interaction with the peace process.

 
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Certificates were issued to 62 nurses and midwives after completing nursing and midwifery training at the paramedical institute in the southern Kandahar province, officials said on Monday.
Thirty-eight male nurses completed three years course while 24 midwives got two years training at the institute, the dean of the paramedical institute, Dr. Nasreen, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

 
KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A three-day exhibition, showcasing a wide variety of women’s handcrafts, was inaugurated in this southern city on Tuesday, the governor’s office said.
Sponsored by the provincial departments of women’s affairs and information and culture, the event is aimed to find market for women’s handcrafts.
A statement from the governor’s house said, the exhibition offered the people the opportunity to see and purchase the handcrafts prepared by Kandahari women.
