Mineral resources of Kandahar province

KANDAHAR CITY (PAN)  Known as a hub and one of the rich provinces in mineral and natural resources, a number of mines reservoirs are discovered in various districts of the volatile Kandahar.
However, a broad survey would to be conducted yet to find out all natural and unexplored reservoirs in the province.
Pajhwok Afghan News has made public information on mines identified by the provincial geology department and a number of international entities.

'Kandahar education sector faces multiple hurdles'

Kandahar (PAN): As many as 313 out of 450 schools have been functioning in the volatile Kandahar Province while rest of the educational institutions cease functioning because of insecurity, lack of relevant materials, and other problems, official said. 
 
Shiraqa Sapai, provincial head of education directorate said that 50 of the schools have been established just recently. 
 

Kandahar misses development budget but projects underway with donor support

KANDAHAR (PAN): Though Kandahar did not receive development budget for the last five years, rehabilitation and reconstruction activities are underway in the province in the wake of support extended by the donor agencies, officials said.
