The governor of southern Kandahar province, Dr. Toryalai Weesa, a son of Abdul Samad Weesa, was born in 1333 in Kohak village in the Arghandab district of Kandahar province. He completed primary, middle and secondary education at Shalmar, Mashraqi and Ahmad Shah Baba high schools of the Kandahar city. He holds university degree in agriculture from Kabul university and joined the American university in Lebanon in order to take his master.  Later, Weesa took his master degree from Lincoln university in Nebraska state of united states when the American university in Beirut was closed due to domestic war in Lebanon. In addition, he took his Ph.D. in Agre-extension from British Colombia varsity when he was living as refugee in Canada. He was a lecturer and academic member of agriculture, economic and agri-extension department at agriculture faculty of Kabul university from 1351 to 1368, as relations director at ministry of higher education from 1368 to 1369, as founder and first chancellor of Kandahar university from 1369 to 1370.From January till December, 1992, he has academic membership of Godollo varsity of Hungary, from 1993 to 1995 as academic member at agri-business institute at Zurich varsity of Swiss, from January to December, 2003, as academic member Asian studies centre in British Colombia university of Canada as well as acted as adviser with various international organizations as DFID, FAODCA, PADCO, Roots of Peace, Chimonics, UNDP and USAID from 2004 to 2008. In addition, Wessa is the governor of southern Kandahar province from 2008 to present. He also has written up to 20 books, topics and translations about agri-extension field.
