LASHKARGAH (PAN): The police chief escaped unhurt in a car suicide bombing that ripped through his convoy on a main road in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand, injuring three people, an official said.
The attacker crashed his explosives-laden car into the police chief Nabi Ilham’s armoured vehicle around 6:30am near the Latif Square, the deputy governor said.
Ahmad Massoud Bakhtawar told Pajhwok Afghan News Ilham survived the attack, but a civilian and two police guards were injured.

 
KABUL (PAN): British forces are moving their headquarters from Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province, to their main base known as Camp Bastion in the Greskh district.
The Ministry of Defence says the move will help British and Afghan forces work closer together during the final stages of transition. Eventually all security operations in Helmand will be taken over by Afghan forces.

 
LASHKARGAH (PAN): Six policemen were mysteriously killed at their checkpoint in the Musa Qala district of southern Helmand province on Thursday, an official said.
The victims included two members of the regular police and four of the Afghan Local Police (ALP), the governor's spokesman, Omar Zwak,  told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Without saying how many security personnel manned the post, he believed the policemen had been killed as a result of a conspiracy inside the check-post in Dezro area.
