CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): The residents of Charikar, the provincial capital, and some districts of central Parwan province complain about increasing insecurity and activities of illegal armed men.
Abdul Qahar Majeedi, a resident of Syagard district, told Pajhwok Afghan News militants had intensified their activities in parts of the town and the nearby Shinwari district.
He said security forces lacked a strategy to counter activities of rebels who were becoming strong with each passing day.

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Some residents of central Parwan province on Saturday expressed grave concern over the performance or work done by the new provincial council (PC) in the province.
But PC members say some of the work has been done and they were planning to initiate more development projects.

The strategically important Parwan has vast rich land and the province is known for having natural reservoirs of quality plumbum and zing.
Parwan has 15 kinds of natural resources such as coal, gems, zing, plumbum, copper, iron, chromites, marble and quartos in SurkhParsa, Ghorband, Syahgird, Kohi Safi, Salang and JabalSaraj districts.
In addition, large scale mine of pegmatite exists in Charikar, the provincial capital.

Crime branch chief Lutf-u-Rahman Rashad told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash took place as a result of personal feud in the Qalacha Sokhta area on the outskirts of the capital of the province last night.
