205- Alhaj Mir Rahman Rahmani

Son of Alhaj Qalandar Khan and brother of General Baba Jan, Alhaj Mir Rahman Rahmani is born in 1962 in Bagram District of Parwan Province. Rahmani speaks Dari. Rahmani graduated from Bagram High School in 1979. After early education, he traveled to Russia to study at the Military University of Russia, and he earned a graduate in 1982. Rahmani has supported financially various cultural, sporting, and industrial associations. In 2006, he established the Ajmal Rahmani Charitable Foundation. His keen interest in cultural activities prompted him to establish a weekly newspaper, Agah, in 2006 in Parwan Province. Since 2008, Rahmani has served as the head of the People’s Social Council of Bagram District, a civil society organization registered with the Ministry of Justice. After graduating from high school, Rahmani joined the military and was a commander in Bagram. In the later years of his military career, he served as a General at a military base in Afghanistan. In 2002, he started his own business in the transportation sector. He was later appointed as head of the Parwan provincial Chamber of Commerce, a position he held from 2007 to 2010.

206- Zakia Sangeen

Daughter of Abdul Hashim, Zakia Sangeen, is born in 1978 in Sayyad District of Parwan Province. Her mother language is Dari but she speaks Pashto and English as well. Sangeen completed her secondary education at the HiraJalali High School, Parwan Province in 1991. She achieved class certificate from the Teacher Training Institute in Parwan in 1995. Later, Sangeen returned to school and studied bachelor degree in Science, Biology, and Chemistry at the Parwan Institute of Higher Education in 2007. Sangeen served as teacher for more than ten years at the Istiqlal and Malalai High Schools in Parwan Province. She was the principal of HiraJalali High School for one year. She worked for three years as an academic staff member in the Department of Education supervision section in Parwan until 2010, when she left in an attempt to run for election.

207- Saranwal Abdul Satar Khawasi

Saranwal Abdul Satar Khawasi is born in 1971 in Parwan Province. He speaks Pashto and Dari. Khawasi graduated from Etehad Islami High School in Peshawar in 1992. He received his bachelor degree in Journalism from Kabul University in 1997 and his master degree from Alazhar University of Egypt, based in Kabul in 2002. Khawasi served as commander in the Northern Alliance from 1978 through 1991. Later, he served as prosecutor in the government office of Monitoring in the Implementation of Law in Kabul from 1997 to 1998. He then joined the Ministry of Justice but earlier served in the loans department from 1999 to 2001, then with the Legal Advisory Board where he served as a legal advisor in 2001. He served with the Rights Department where he served as deputy head and then acting supervisor first in Kabul in 2004, then in Kandahar. Khawasi was elected to parliament in 2005. He served as Secretary of the Wolesi Jirga during this term.

208- Alhaj Muhammad Almas Zahid

Alhaj Muhammad Almas Zahid is born in 1961 in Bagram District of Parwan Province. He speaks Dari and Pashto. Almas Zahid completed his secondary education at a high school in Parwan Province, and later graduated with 12th class at Bagram High School in 1978 (now known as Shafaq Shaheed High School). Before becoming a member of parliament in 2005, Almas Zahid worked as a provincial commander with the Ministry of Defense. He is currently a businessman and owns a well-known restaurant in Kabul. Almas Zahid was elected to parliament in 2005, he has been known to be close to both Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan and Hezb-e-Jamiat Islami Afghanistan in the past – the former under the Soviet regime and the latter during the civil war. In the 1990s, he was a commander with Hezb-e-Jamiat Islami Afghanistan.

Samiah Azizi Sadat is the daughter of Mir Rahmatullah, and is born in 1970 in Parwan Province. She speaks Dari and English. Sadat graduated from Hira Jalal High School in Parwan Province. She earned her bachelor degree in Science from Kabul University in 1986, and a master degree in Economics from Qum University in Tajikistan, where she studied from 2003 to 2008. Sadat began her career as a teacher at the Hira Jalal High School. She taught at the Jabal Saraj High School in Parwan from 1987 to 1996, and Bibi Sarwari Secondary School in Kabul from 1996 to 2001. From 2001 to 2003, she taught at Al Jahad High School in Parwan. She delivered lectures at the Parwan Institute for Higher Education from 2003 to 2004 and was then appointed as the head of the Department of Education in Parwan Province--- a position she held from 2004 to 2006. She served as program coordinator with the International Medical Corps (IMC) for three years and with the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED) for one year. Sadat was elected to parliament in 2005. She participated in the Constitutional Loya Jirga in 2003. She is known to have links with Hezb-e-Jamiat Islami Afghanistan.

Khuwaja Sediq Ahmad Osmani is the son of Mir Muhammad Osman, and is born in 1952 in Parwan Province. He speaks Dari, Pashto, Danish, and to some extent English. Osmani graduated from Numan High School in Parwan in 1970 and completed his bachelor degree in Science from Kabul University in 1975. Osmani worked as a supervisor of Mathematics and Physics in Kunduz Province from 1976 to 1980 and as a supervisor in Kabul from 1980 to 1984. From 1984 to 1989, he taught in Kabul. He left the teaching profession in 1989 to run a construction company. He has written two books--- A Guide for Teachers in the Laboratory and Solutions for Physics Questions. Osmani was elected to parliament in 2005.
