CHARIKAR (PAN): Police have arrested a dozen people allegedly involved in various crimes in the Bagram district of central Parwan province, an official said on Tuesday.
The district chief, Abdul Shakoor Qadosi, told Pajhwok Afghan the men had been arrested from different parts of the district over the past few days.
Seven of the detainees were involved in stealing and snatching 10 motorcycles over the past three months.

CHARIKAR (PAN): Parwan Governor Abdul Basir Salangi has said it is difficult to combat the drug trade in the central province because some police officials are involved in the illicit commerce.
“Drug trade is common in Charikar and other parts of the province. I ask security officials at every meeting to do more to prevent the business,” Salangi told Pajhwok Afghan News during an exclusive conversation.

KABUL (PAN): A journalist on Saturday accused the governor of central Parwan province, Abdul Basir Salangi, of beating him in front of his friends at a restaurant in Kabul.
Nasratullah Iqbal, who works with a private news agency, claimed the incident took place on Friday night when he was visiting his friends at a restaurant, where the governor arrived along with his bodyguards.
