Bagram rally pledges support to Hilal

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A political gathering in central Parwan province on Sunday pledged support to presidential candidate Qutbuddin Hilal in the April 5 elections.
Nearly 2,000 people attended the rally in Bagram district, chanting slogans “Long live Islam; long live (Gulbadin) Hekmatyar; and death to enemies of Islam.”
The Hezb-i-Islami (HIA) leader in Parwan, Eng. Baryalai, told participants they supported Hilal because Hekmatyar had endorsed his candidacy. He called on Hilal to establish an Islamic system if he won the elections.
In his address, Hilal promised he would introduce an Islamic system and would give men and women their rights as enshrined in Islam.
A resident of Bagram district, Mohammad Afzal, said nearly 2000 people took part in the rally despite rains. Besides locals, the participants included people from Kapisa and Kabul districts.
