KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) addressed 188 complaints filed by the Change and Continuity team at a meeting on Tuesday, an official said.

IECC would announce its final decision on the investigated complaints tomorrow (Wednesday), the commission’s spokesman, Nadir Mohseni, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The watchdog investigated two decisions of the Independent Election Commission regarding vote invalidation at a public hearing, in which ballots from 371 polling stations were declared invalid.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Saturday declared validated votes of one of 94 ballot boxes, an official said.

Earlier, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) had declared the 94 ballot boxes invalid. IECC later started probing complaints regarding the ballot boxes.

IECC spokesman Nadir Mohseni told reporters 21 complaints had been registered on behalf of the Change and Continuity team, led by Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Wednesday said it had fined two presidential candidates and more than one thousand provincial council runners 76 million afghanis in total for violations of rules during the April elections.
IECC spokesman Nader Mohseni told reporters in Kabul that irregularities of the two presidential candidates and 1061 provincial council contenders had been proven.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Vice President Karim Khalili on Monday urged judicial organs to take action over the fake audiotape attributed to him by supporters of a presidential runner.
Last week, Dr. Abdullah’s campaign team released a tape in which Khalili was purportedly telling senior officials that the government would ensure Dr. Ashraf Ghani’s success in the runoff polls. But the VP rejected the tape as forged.

KABUL (Pajhwok): A senior member of presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah’s team on Sunday accused Second Vice-President Mohammad Karim Khalili of orchestrating fraud in favour of his rival candidate Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.
Nasrullah Baryali Arsalai told reporters in Kabul that Khalili had assured his supporters that the government, President Karzai, the election commissions and international friends were in favor of Ghani, who had been promised victory in the election.

 
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Change and Continuity team, led by Ashraf Ghani, on Tuesday claimed the Reform and Unanimity team had appointed foreigners as observers for the ongoing vote audit, a claim Abdullah’s camp dismissed.
A member of the Change and Continuity team, Halim Fidaee, told Pajhwok Afghan News that they had evidence showing Abdullah had appointed a number of foreigners as observers to work in his interest.

 
KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Police have detained five Independent Election Commission (IEC) workers on charges of committing fraud during last week’s presidential runoff in northern Kunduz province.

 
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Tuesday said that hundreds of appeals and complaints from southern and southeastern zones had been addressed.
The complaints and appeals were dealt with at three public hearings in the presence of civil society activists, election observers, media people and representatives of presidential candidate Dr Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.
IECC Chairman Abdul Sattar Sadat said the complaints and appeals had been registered in Nuristan, Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, Paktia, Paktika and Khost provinces.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Supporters of presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Tuesday tore apart poster of President Hamid Karzai in the Loya Jirga tent and replaced it with Abdullah’s photo inscribed with ‘Afghanistan’s elected president’.

The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced the preliminary results of the presidential vote on Monday, with Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai taking lead over his rival.
