Ghani team’s complaints addressed

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) addressed 188 complaints filed by the Change and Continuity team at a meeting on Tuesday, an official said.

IECC would announce its final decision on the investigated complaints tomorrow (Wednesday), the commission’s spokesman, Nadir Mohseni, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The watchdog investigated two decisions of the Independent Election Commission regarding vote invalidation at a public hearing, in which ballots from 371 polling stations were declared invalid.

Mohseni added lack of evidence and arguments by the Change and Continuity team prevented IECC from handing down a final decision today.

Meanwhile, IEC chief Abdul Sattar Sadat said they would soon take a final decision about the complaint investigation process and share it with the IEC. He said people had waited long for the outcome and would not be kept waiting.
