Watchdog starts receiving complaints

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Tuesday said the presidential runners had 24-hour time to lodge their complaints against the preliminary results.
The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced the preliminary results of the presidential vote on Monday, with Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai taking lead over his rival.
Speaking to journalists in Kabul, IECC secretary Nader Mohseni said the complaints registration process opened today at 80 am and would continue for 24 hours.
Mohseni added they were determined to discharge their duty by transparently reviewing the complaints. He said IECC reserved the right to review votes from some sites due to brazen fraud even in the absence of complaints.
He urged both candidates to submit their complaints within the stipulated time and the commission would adjudicate the claims/objections in a fair manner.
