JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Hundreds of tribal elders gathered in eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday and demanded the presidential election to be held on time.

 

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday said the main task of security forces was to secure and facilitate the conduct of transparent elections, saying no security official reserved the right to support a specific candidate.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Election watchdog Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FEFA) on Wednesday said lack of political consensus on election, candidates’ warning to boycott polls and government interference in election workers’ employment were worrisome problems.
The watchdog also said the international community was not committed to its promises regarding the Afghan democratic process.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Presidential candidate Ahmad Wali Massoud on Wednesday called the upcoming election and the ongoing peace process as vague issues, saying presidential candidates would express their position if the government did not listen to demands of the Council of Candidates.
