HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The governors and police chiefs of western Herat, Badghis, Ghor and Farah provinces held a meeting here and discussed security plan for this month’s presidential election.
The meeting at the governor’s house in Herat City, the capital of western Herat province, follows a similar meeting involving high ranking foreign officials to discuss security for the election in the western zone.

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Members of a women association in southeastern Khost province say they will not participate in this month’s presidential election if their photos are taken as mandatory during the voting process.

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): Independent Election Commission (IEC) officials on Sunday said the transfer of electoral materials to Kabul and provinces had been completed and preparations for ensuring security during the election were in place.
On the other hand, election officials said 60,000 election observers had received credentials for the September 28 presidential poll.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Some civil society activists in northern Balkh province on Sunday said voter turnout in this month’s presidential elections would be weak in the province if the security situation remains the same.
They were expressed these views at a conference entitled “people’s cooperation in the election process” in Mazar-i-Sharif City, the provincial capital, today

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A number of women in western northern Baghlan province say they are deeply concerned about the deteriorated security situation in the province and fear they may not vote in this month’s presidential election.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Independent Election Commission (IEC) officials in northern Balkh say 33 out of total 315 polling sites in the province would be shut on the Election Day.

 

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): The residents of southeastern Paktia province say people’s trust was badly tarnished in the presidential and parliamentary elections and needs to be restored.
The matter was echoed during a meeting between Independent Election Commission officials, women rights activists and members of political parties.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Tens of fake Facebook pages have been created in the name of presidential candidates and have been publishing negative and immoral propaganda against rival candidates, Pajhwok Afghan News has learnt.

Facebook pages associated to Torsan, a presidential hopeful, have attracted special attention for its negative propagation against other runners.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Sensitive electoral materials have successfully transferred to 23 provinces, Independent Election Commission (IEC) said on Wednesday.
The commission, however, expressed fear that insecurity in some provinces could threaten the upcoming presidential election.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FFEFA) on Wednesday said peace and election were national processes and they should not be turned to obstacles to each other.
FFEFA organized a conference about peace and democracy in Mazar-i-Sharif, capital of northern Balkh province today.
Shams Rasikh, supervisory and evaluation in charge of FFEFA told Pajhwok Afghan News that peace and election were two national processes and they should not interrupt each other.
