SHARAN (PAN): Complaining of what they termed slow-paced development activities, residents of southeastern Paktika province said absence of agriculture and health facilities were the main problems being confronted by them. 
  
Saifur Rahman, a resident of Sharan city said development activities came to a halt in the province during the past few years.

SHARAN (PAN): People of the volatile southeastern Paktika province demand the government and the international community to strengthen security, build the shattered infrastructure with special reference promote and bring positive changes in the vital agriculture field.   
   
 
Talking to Pajhwok Afghan News, Durani Mohammad Khel, a tribal elder and resident of Sharan city said construction of power dam in Plato area was the long-standing demand of the people of the province.
 

Paktika is a remote province situated to the southwest of Afghanistan, bordering Pakistan. With the provincial capital, the province has 21 administrative units. Its provincial council has nine members including three women.  
Teacher: Taliban forced me to stay away from casting vote in the past elections but this time I will vote for sure.
Saifullah, a resident of provincial capital Sharana and teacher at Ali Baba High School told Pajhwok Afghan News he and his family were optimistic to participate in the upcoming elections.

1-      National Radio Paktika:
Among the vibrant media outlets, the National Radio Paktika has affiliation \with the Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs. Besides Paktika, its transmission can be received in parts of Paktia, Ghazni, MaidanWardak and Logar districts.It presents 12- hours transmission. It is financed by the Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs.

1 – Paktika Civil Society Institution:
 
The Paktika Civil Society Institution was established in 2008. The institution is operating in the capital Kabul. Headed by Gen. Mohmand Katwazai, the institution has around 50 members.
 
2 – Paktika Independent Journalists Union:
 
The Paktika Independent Journalists Union was established by Mohammad Yasin Yasin in 2008. The institution strives to boost coordination among journalists and address problems being confronted by the journalists’ fraternity.

The volatile Paktika province is situated alongside the Durand Line at the southeast of the country. The province has 21 administrative units (districts) including the capital Sharana city.

 Mohibullah Samim was born in the Waghiz district of southern Ghazni province in 1965. He completed his primary education in Waghiz and he has bachelor degree in literature as well.
 He served as information and culture minister and district chiefs of Waghiz and Ander districts of the province.
Samim heads Zamzama maazine in the capital Kabul. Mohibullah Samim was appointed as governor Paktika in 2010. He speaks Dari, Pashto and English languages fluently.
