SHARAN (Pajhwok): Presidential hopeful Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday said Afghanistan was heading in the right direction and no one would be allowed to create any crisis.
At a meeting with relatives of the victims of last week’s bomb attack in Orgun district, Abdullah said he had been extremely shocked by the loss of lives in the terrorist act.
One of the deadliest in southeastern Paktika province since 2001, the suicide car bombing left at least 42 people dead and scores wounded. The explosion also razed dozens of shops in the main district market.

SHARAN (Pajhwok): Leading presidential candidate Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai on Thursday once again ruled out a coalition government with his rival Abdullah Adullah, saying he would not strike any deal over people’s votes.
“Reaching agreement with Abdullah is based on principles, which does not mean a partnership or a coalition government,” Ghani told a gathering in Orgun district, the scene of a deadly suicide attack earlier in the week.

SHARANA (Pajhwok): Calling an audio tape played by presidential contender Dr. Abdullah Abdullah’s team as completely fake, Paktika Governor Mohibullah Samim said on Sunday tactics aimed at maligning the hard-won Afghans’ right to vote must be stopped.
Members of Abdullah's team the other day played an audio recording allegedly contained proof of irregularities during the June 14 runoff presidential elections in favour of Abdullah's rival candidate Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and promised to release more such “evidence of electoral fraud” in the next few days.

SHARAN (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) office in southeastern Paktika province on Friday announced invalidating ballots from 19 polling stations.
At a meeting, IECC Director Abdul Hamid Malang also announced imposing a fine of 75,000 afs on presidential runner Dr. Abdullah’s campaigner Attiqullah for committing fraud.
He said votes from eight polling stations in Orgun district, eight in Barmal and three in Khairkot had been thrown out on the basis of convincing evidence of irregularities.
