FAIZABAD (PAN): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Tuesday said the voter registration campaign had been slow, but successful, in northeastern Badakhshan province, where 130,000 people, including 40 percent women, have been issued voter cards.

1. Daricha-e-Baz Cultural- Literary Association:

The Daricha-e-Baz Cultural- Literary Association was established by Wali Mohammad Asion, which mainly focuses on promoting of socio-cultural activities throughout the province. It conducts poetry and literary sessions to develop the taste of arts and culture.

2. Khodi Development Institution:

The Badakhshan provincial council has 15 members, with nine of them served in previous term too while the rests six are new members.
1- Talabuddin Qadri:
Talabuddin Qadri is son of Sayyed Qadir, he was born in 1986 in Wakhan district. He is graduated from a high school at his home district and received his BA from Albairuni University in central Kapisa province. Before making his way to the provincial council, he was running his own business. Currently, he is deputy head of provincial council. He has no political affiliation.

Son of Mohammad Islam, Shah Waliullah Adeeb was born in 1969 in Badakhshan’s Darwaz district.
Shah Waliullah got his early education from his hometown. He then migrated to Pakistan after the soviet invasion of Afghanistan where he received further education.
He attended an institute and college in Pakistan’s Peshawar city. He then earned his degree in Arabic literature and Islamic education in Libya. He completed his master degree from Sodan’s state university.

Largely known as one of the lush green and mountainous provinces, Badakhshan is located in the northeastern region of Afghanistan. It shares border with Tajikistan, Pakistan and China.
Faizabad is the capital of Badakhshan.
Badakhshan is rich in natural resources with abundant in minerals Ruby and Azure reserves. The province has immense historical importance.
Badakhshan’s geographical location is between 70 degrees, four minutes and 36 seconds east and 36 degrees, 50 minutes and 16 seconds north.

Daughter of Muhammad Akbar, Gulalai Akbari is born in Jaram district of Badakhshan province. She passed 14 grade in religiouse education. She discharged her duties in various capacities including teacher, team leader in Swiden Commettie, social affairs officer in Agha Khan’s office, school deputy and Badakhshan’s provincial council attorney.

Badakhshan has a total 29 administrative units--- a provincial capital and 28 districts.
The New Faizabad city is the capital of Badakhshan province, which is considered the center of administrative affairs. The old Faizabad city has historical importance, crowded markets and scenic beauty. The renowned Kokcha Fort contributed to the beauty of the city.

Wakhan:
Wakhan district is situated on extreme height, sharing borders with China and Tajikistan. It is one of the remote districts of the province.
