FAIZABAD/BAMYAN (Pajhwok): At least 74 electoral complaints had been recorded in northeastern Badakhshan province and the objections if verified could lead to putting 25 percent of ballot boxes in quarantine, an official said on Thursday.
Independent Elecoral Complaints Commission (IECC) official in Badakhshan Abdul Mussawir Sirat said four complaints had been lodged against presidential candidates, 40 against provincial council runners, 22 against election commission employees and six against government officials.

KABUL (Pajhwok): in a visit to Badakhshan, presidential hopeful Dr. Abdullah has promised to develop the northeastern province if he won the upcoming vote, officials said Monday.
Abdullah told thousands of supporters in Faizabad he would construct a dam and step up trade activity in Badakhshan, which would be transformed into a major transit route.
In case of his election victory, construction work on the Silk Road would resume and transit trade through Badakhshan would be boosted, he added.

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): The governor on Thursday said election materials would be airlifted to 14 districts of northeastern Badakhshan province due to security threats.
Shah Waliullah Adib explained 12 of the districts had no proper roads and there were security problems in the remaining two towns.
He said the presence of Taliban insurgents and a lack of roads to the said districts had made it impossible to transfer election materials there by road.

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Election officials said on Wednesday they would request the Afghan Air Force (AAF) for airlifting election materials to 70 polling stations in case of road blockades in northeastern Badakhshan province.
They said the materials would be flown to 11 districts if roads there were closed due to bad weather or insecurity.
