kABUL (Pajhwok): Electoral watchdog Transparency Watch Organization of Afghanistan (ETWA) and some Wolesi Jirga members on Monday claimed the ongoing vote recount process was full of irregularities and fraud.

KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of residents of western Herat province suspect that a relative of a senior election commission official has been fraudulently added to the list of leading Wolesi Jirga candidates.

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): After closing a key highway, failing Wolesi Jirga candidates and their supporters have closed the Governor’s House main gate against employees in southeastern Khost province.
The fresh blockade comes amid already closure of the Gardez-Khost City highway by the protestors to reject preliminary results of the Wolesi Jirga polls.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A number of unsuccessful Wolesi Jirga candidates in the initial results from northern Baklh province on Saturday rejected the results as manipulated in favour of political parties.
Two days earlier, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced the initial results of the Wolesi Jirga polls of Balkh province, declaring 11 contestants as winners.

KABUL (Pajhwok): A female Wolesi Jirga candidate from southeastern Paktika province, Hela Mujtaba, is holding two national identity cards against the law, Pajhwok has learnt.
Pajhwok Afghan News has obtained copies of both her ID cards, which carry different photos of the holder.

KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Tuesday announced invalidating 3,000 votes in southern Kandahar province and some individuals referred to judiciary over alleged rigging and fraud during the Oct 20 parliamentary elections.
Karimullah Stanikzai, IECC head for Kandahar, told reporter here that 170 polling stations were open in 11 police districts of Kandahar City and 17 districts where people exercised their right to vote.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Some Wolesi Jirga members on Saturday claimed the arrest of Obaidullah Niyazi, the operational director of the Independent Election Commission (IEC), by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel over alleged bribery.

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Some protesting candidates from southeastern Khost province threatened to halt presidential elections in the province if the Independent Election Commission (IEC) ignored their demands.
Around 30 Wolesi Jirga candidates while addressing reporters here termed the October 20 elections as rigged and rejected the preliminary results announced by the election body.

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Dozens of supporters of a failing female Wolesi Jirga candidate on Monday staged a protest demonstration in this capital city of central Uruzgan province, accusing the local election body of electoral fraud.
Four days ago, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced preliminary results from the Oct 20 Wolesi Jirga elections of five provinces, including Uruzgan.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Some protesting Wolesi Jirga candidates from western Farah province on Sunday demanded a fresh Wolesi Jirga vote and invalidation of the October 20 ballot in the province.
On five seats allocated to Farah province in the lower house including one for women, 42 people, including three women, contested the Wolesi Jirga elections.
