KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaint Commission (IECC) regional office in Kabul has declared votes of 14 polling stations in Kuchi constituency as invalid and referred candidates Rasoul Khan and Shah Wazir Tarakhel to the judiciary over alleged fraud and rigging.

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Some residents of northern Baghlan province have urged the provincial Independent Election Commission (IEC) office not to invalidate their votes cast in the Oct 20 Wolesi Jirga elections.
The residents of Khost and Baghlan-i-Markazi districts made the demand during a meeting with Baghlan governor Abdul Hai Nimati and other local authorities on Saturday.

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Residents of two districts of northern Baghlan province on Saturday asked the election commission not to invalidate their votes in the Wolesi Jirga elections.
Hundreds of people coming all the way from Khost and Baghlan-i-Markazi districts to Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, also met with the provincial governor and other officials.
One of the elders, Abdul Hakim Noorzai, said all votes cast in Baghlan province should be counted as valid.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Two Independent Election Commission (IEC) officials allegedly demanded sex from a female Wolesi Jirga candidate to boost her victory’s chance in the last month’s polls.

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Protesters in southeastern Khost province on Wednesday closed the Independent Election Commission’s (IEC) office over an ongoing inspection of 91 polling stations in the province.

 

KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of Wolesi Jirga candidates from the Kuchi (nomads) tribe on Wednesday claimed the elections in their electoral zone were rigged and warned to boycott future polls if their claims were not investigated and addressed.

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Some candidates in northern Baghlan province have lost their trust on the provincial Independent Election Commission (IEC) in the votes recount and demanded the process to be conducted in capital Kabul.

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Supporters of candidates facing attorneys in southeastern Paktia province on Monday said the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC)’s decision against the hopefuls was unjust.
Dozens of supporters of the four Wolesi Jirga candidates gathered in protest in Gardiz city, the capital of Paktia, today.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Electoral watchdog Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FEFA) has welcomed a recount of votes from some polling stations, but stresses the audit should take place in presence of observers and witnesses.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Commission to review media violations and complaints on Sunday announced addressing 32 complaints during the first six months of the ongoing year.
Hassina Safi, acting Minister of Information and Culture (MoIC) and head of the commission to review media violations and complaints jointly held a press conference in Kabul.
They said during the first six months they addressed 32complaints, including five media violations and 27 other complaints.
