TALOQAN/KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): Suspected militants fired rockets into a polling centre in northern Kunduz province while a bomb blast took place near the police headquarters in Takhar, officials said on Thursday.

PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN): As the nation went to the polls, militants gunned down a district police chief and wounded three policemen in northern Baghlan province on Thursday, an official said.

GARDEZ (PAN): More than 30 polling stations stayed closed in southeastern Paktia province after election staff refused to turn up for duty due to security concerns, officials said on Thursday.

KABUL (PAN): Residents of Chak and Jaghato districts were attacked as Taliban insurgents closed the roads on polling day in central Maidan Wardak province, residents said on Thursday.

MAIMANA (PAN): Two polling stations could not be opened in Qaisar district of northern Faryab province due to insurgent threats.

MEHTARLAM, (PAN): Four voters including a woman were wounded in separate rebel attacks in Alishing district of eastern Laghman province, officials said Thursday.


MAIMANA (PAN): Police in northern Jawzjan province Thursday arrested a man for allegedly firing a rocket at a polling centre.

KHOSTCITY, GARDIZ (PAN): Hundreds of people could not cast their votes in Zazi Maidan district of southeastern Khost province as the polling stations ran out of ballots papers, voters complained.

KABUL (PAN): Defense Ministry spokesman General Zahir Azeemi Thursday said three explosions were occurred in KabulCity as another senior official asked media outlets to obey by the government directives about a ban from reporting violent incidents till the end of Election Day.

 

 QALAT/TRINKOT (PAN): Despite several security incidents, the voting process is gaining momentum in southern Zabul and Uruzgan provinces.
