KABUL (Pajhwok): Enayatullah Hafiz, a presidential candidate, on Sunday launched his election campaign by cleaning parts of 6th and 13th police districts of capital Kabul along with dozens of his supporters.
Presidential election campaigns began across the country on Sunday (today) and will last two months.

Enayatullah Hafiz and 50 of his supporters started cleaning streets in Kabul city to mark the start of the electioneering in a novel way ahead of the Sept 28 ballot.
Hafiz said he would also launch the cleanliness campaign in other provinces of the country. “We started our election campaign different from others, we did so in order to encourage people to keep their city clean,” he said.
“Holding campaign events in luxury hotels, giving food to people and high-level promises cannot heal the pain of this nation, the nation needs change and we can bring it,” he said.
Hafiz asked the public to assess the candidates’ last 10 years performance before voting for them. He said the people should prefer candidates who had grown up among people and had the intention only to serve the nation.
He said he would soon present his programs under ‘Rescue the Country’ slogan for the people.
He also asked other candidates to continue their campaigns in a healthy environment by respecting each other and abiding by the country’s laws.
