BAMYAN (Pajhwok): The Ulama council in central Bamyan province called election a religious and national responsibility to be discharged by the people by actively participating in second round of the polls.
The council in a statement asked people to take part in June, 14, ballot to elect their next president.
They called the process extremely significant and decisive, stressing ballot was of great importance in the country’s current situation.

 
BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Residents and civil society activists say they have noticed the general public is less interested in the election campaign for the runoff presidential elections in central Bamyan province as compared to their enthusiasm in the April elections.
Campaign officials say they had been able to organise big rallies in Bamyan City in the lead up to the April 5 elections, but this time they had shifted their focus to districts and hard-to-reach areas.

 
BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): With the surrender of 20 militants, polling sites that previously faced threats would become secure in central Bamyan province, an official hoped on Saturday.
Mohammad Sadiq Ali Yar, head of the peace committee, lauded the group for shunning violence and joining the peace process. He said the ongoing insurgency was legalising the presence of foreign troops in the country.
