KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Acting Kandahar Governor Abdul Hanan Munib on Saturday visited some polling stations and assured that technical issues in the way of voting process would be resolved soon.
Wolesi Jirga elections in Kandahar province postponed after the killing of Police Chief Gen. Abdul Raziq just two days before the conduct nation-wide polls on October 20.
During his visit to different polling stations Acting Governor Munib pledged technical issues that hampered the voting process would be resolved promptly.
He said the Independent Election Commission (IEC) tried to seek the support of provincial government in case difficulties during the voting process and the problem could be resolved through joint efforts.
Over a hundred people, including 12 women have been contesting the Wolesi Jirga polls in Kandahar.
According to IEC, around 567,000 have registered as voter in Kandahar province.
