AIBAK (PAN): Expressing their deep dissatisfaction over the state of education in Samangan, locals said the vital sector was facing a host of problems that need to be addressed urgently.
“Absence of schools buildings and drinking water facilities inside educational institutions, lack of professional teachers, and unavailability of textbooks are long-standing problems that cannot be resolved for years,” said residents of the province.

AIBAK (PAN): Officials and residents said 85% economy of Samangan people mainly depends on agriculture and livestock--- vital sectors they demanded to be developed further.
Multiple small nature projects have been implemented during the past decade in an apparent attempt to resolve their problems but still challenges are haunting the locals at various fronts.
Farmers and land owners said government and international community jointly worked to address their problems but the main issue of vital importance regarding shortage of irrigation water could not be tackled.

1 – The Association of Samangan Youth and Writers:
 
The Association of Samangan Youth and Writers has been striving to promote and encourage the cultural and literary fields in the province. Dozens of eminent poets have their memberships of the association. It holds monthly literary meetings to discuss a host of issues and exchange views how to address the challenges being confronted to the sectors.

Payam-i-Samangan is backed by the cultural committee of provincial governor’s office in 2007. It covers social and cultural issues and has over a dozen of employees. It is headed by Fathullah Wofi.

Professor Khairullah Anosh Son of Abdul Samad, Professor Khairullah Anosh was born in 1957 in Darwaza locality of Maimana city of Andkhoy district in Faryab province. He graduated from Abu Muslim High School in his home district.
After passing university’s entrance exam in 1977, he got admission in literature department of Social Science at Kabul University. He earned his bachelor degree in literature in 1980.
From 1979 to 1982, he served as police soldier in Andkhoy Border Command while from June 1982 to March 1983; he served as principal of Yuldos High School in Faryab.

57 – Mohammad Asif Azimi:
Elected Senator:
 
Son of Mohammad Nabi, Mohammad Asif Azimi was born in the first municipality district of the provincial capital in northern Samangan in 1967. He completed his high school education and then joined the ranks of Mujahedeen in the fight against soviet. Having political affiliation with the Jamiat-i-Islami party, Azimi serves as senator in Meshrano Jirga.

Samangan provincial council has nine seats. Three of the previous members managed to secure their seats for this term while the rests are new faces.
1- Haji Raz Mohammad Haji Mohammad:
Haji Raz Mohammad Haji Mohammad is the son of Baz Mohammad. He was born in 1955 in Char-Dehi village of Dare Soof district. He studied upto 12th class and then studied in the local Madrassa as well. In the previous term, he was elected to the provincial council and then represented Samangan people as a senator. Now, he is a member of the provincial council.

The northern Samangan province including the capital city of Aibak comprised seven administrative units.
 
1 – Aibak City:
 

Located to the north of the country, Samangan province is situated between Balkh and Baghlan provinces, sharing borders with central Asian states of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
 
Jangor Gash is located to the south of Samangan and the vast agriculture areas of Aybak are also part of the province. Its north is surrounded by renowned Meer Alam desert and Amo River flows at its own sweet will quite freely.
