The western Ghor province has ten administrative unites including the provincial capital Chaghcharan. The province has nine districts including Dawlatyar, Tyora, Tolak, Saghar, Pasaband, Dolina, Shahrak, Charsada, Lal WaSar Jangal.

1-Markaz: (provincial capital)

Historically known the city of iron smiths, Chaghcharan city has been known with different names in history such as FirozKoh and Dasht-e-Punba since times of Buddhists dynasty. The widely Hari Road River flows in Chaghcharan, which adds considerable to its natural beauty.

Son of Sayyed Rahmat, Governor Ghor province Sayyed Anwar Rahmati is born in 1959 in Yakawlang district of Bamyan province. He studied his primary and middle school at his home district.
He graduated from agriculture high school of Herat province in 1979.
He could not pursue higher education because of Soviet forces onslaught on Afghanistan. He joined Jihad against soviet and served in various capacities in politics and army of Nasr's Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan.

Ghor provincial council has 15 members. Three members are from the last term while the remaining 12 are fresh faces. The following three persons are elected as their administrative board officials:
Head: Fazul Haq Ehsan
Deputy: Mohammad Mehdvi
Secretary: Gulsoom Rezai

1- Abdul Rahman Atshan:

Ghor is located in the center of Afghanistan, which is considered one of the underdeveloped provinces. Minar-e-Jam reflects the historical importance of Ghor province.
Geographically, Ghor is a mountainous province with heavy snowfall during the season. It is situated at 31 degrees, and 34minutes latitudein the northand25degrees and 65 minutes longitudein theeast. It is over 2,250 meters above sea level.
The province is located at a distance of 480 kilometers from Kabul, sharing borders with Herat, Badghis, Faryab, Sar-i-Pul, Bamyan, Uruzgan, Helmand and Farah provinces.
